A non-selective, post-emergence herbicide for the control of annual and perennial weeds.
GLUFORA contains glufosinate ammonium 13.5% SL. It is a non-selective, post-emergence contact herbicide with some systemic action, recommended for the control of annual and perennial weeds in tea, cotton and non-crop areas, where it gives a quick knockdown even of hard-to-kill weeds.
GLUFORA inhibits the enzyme glutamine synthetase in weeds. This disrupts nitrogen metabolism and leads to rapid desiccation of the treated foliage. Movement inside the plant is limited to the leaves, mainly from the leaf base to the leaf tip, so it works best on actively growing weeds.
“Glufosinate ammonium 13.5% SL for quick knockdown of annual and perennial weeds.”
GLUFORA is used in tea and cotton against weeds such as Digitaria sanguinalis, Eleusine indica, Imperata cylindrica, Cynodon dactylon, Cyperus rotundus, Commelina benghalensis and Ageratum conyzoides. Apply at the 3–5 leaf stage, while the weeds are actively growing.
Application rate: 1,000–1,320 ml per acre in 150–200 litres of water in tea; 1,000–1,200 ml per acre in 200 litres of water in cotton.
