It safeguards seed and soil, protects them from airborne diseases and helps crops stand up to a range of fungal diseases.
The bacteria in SUBTILEX colonise the zone around the plant roots and the leaf surface. There they stop spores from germinating, block germ-tube growth and keep disease-causing pathogens from attaching to the plant. They also produce iturin, an antibiotic that destroys fungal pathogens, and switch on the plant’s own defence system.
