A biological nematicide based on the nematophagous fungus Paecilomyces lilacinus that restricts all types of plant-parasitic nematodes.
Nematodes multiply continuously in the soil, attack the roots of plants and form knots on them. NEMADEC contains the fungus Paecilomyces lilacinus at 1 × 108 CFU per gram and restricts all types of nematodes: root-knot, cyst, root-lesion and burrowing nematodes.
The fungus in NEMADEC infects, parasitises and colonises the eggs of nematodes, their hatching and young juveniles, and the juveniles that penetrate the roots. The affected nematodes become immobilised and eventually die.
“Nematophagous fungus Paecilomyces lilacinus for the control of plant-parasitic nematodes.”
NEMADEC is used against nematodes in pomegranate, chilli, cruciferous and cucurbit vegetables, tuber and rhizome vegetables, and crops under protected cultivation. It is applied through drip irrigation or as a drench.
Application rate: 2 kg per acre.
