A biological insecticide based on the entomopathogenic fungus Metarhizium anisopliae for the control of white grubs, termites and borers.
METADEC contains the entomopathogenic fungus Metarhizium anisopliae at 1 × 108 CFU per gram. It is highly effective on all stages of white grubs, termites and borers and offers a long-term, sustainable solution against these pests.
When the living spores of METADEC come into contact with the skin of an insect, they germinate and penetrate into its body, where they produce toxins that paralyse and kill the pest. The fungus then develops on the surface of the dead insect and starts a new round of infection in other insects.
“Entomopathogenic fungus Metarhizium anisopliae for the control of white grubs, termites and borers.”
METADEC is used against white grubs, termites and borers in sugarcane, groundnut, soybean, chilli, and cruciferous, cucurbit and tuber vegetables. It can be applied to the soil, through drip irrigation, as a drench, or broadcast together with fertiliser.
